About

This blog is authored by Rajyashree Sen (AKA Rai) who is obsessed with unusual organisms and the strange wonderful things they do in nature. Rai is a recent graduate from the lab of Dr.Barry Dickson at Janelia Research Campus. Her PhD focused on understanding the neuronal underpinnings of evasive walking in fruitflies. She is now a postdoc in the lab of Dr. Richard Axel at Columbia University where she studies the neuronal bases of social memories in mice.

In her spare time, Rai loves to write. Her other obsessions include reading, traveling, improv comedy, soup dumplings, and Oxford commas.
